Berni: 'Macri turns a blind eye to security'
Security Secretary Sergio Berni has accused BA Mayor Mauricio Macri of “turning a blind eye” to the need of battling crime in Argentina’s capital.
“Macri must bear responsibility for security in the City of Buenos Aires and he shares that responsibility with us. He turns a blind eye (to the problem) and seems that nobody warned him that he has a Metropolitan Police,” Berni told reporters from Del Plata radio station.
The Victory Front official pointed out that the national government works “everyday” to tackle crime rates with the Federal Police and insisted that people “are not interested in the expression fear of crime but in the problem.” “The expression can be discussed in forums but citizens are interested in having the problems resolved by us,” Berni added.
