Activists take over BA City Cathedral to protest Macri's education policies
Around 200 activists took over the Metropolitan Church in BA city to protest the education agenda of city Mayor Mauricio Macri and warned they will not leave the building until the local government meets their demands.
In statements to local media, Laura, a member of the Dignity” Popular Movement –a left wing group that carries out social activities in poor neighborhoods-, called for the defense of public education and urged Education Minister Esteban Bullrich to “stop” subsidizing private schools.
The activists hanged a large banner at the main entrance of the Cathedral reading “In defense of public education and to stop private schools’ subsidies” while some of them remained inside the building waiting for an official response from Bullrich.
