Teachers' union rejects proposal, to hold 48-hour strike
Buenos Aires province teachers' union announced today another 48-hour strike for tomorrow and Wednesday, after considering "insufficient" a new wage offer presented by the provincial government.
After the encounter headed by Buenos Aires province Labour Minister Oscar Cuartango, SUTEBA secretary-general Roberto Baradel assured that "the proposal doesn't even reach the 22 percent hike, it's of 18.6 percent," against the 17.8 percent offered previously.
Once the meeting ended, the union representatives announced a 48-hour strike starting tomorrow, and will hold a demonstration on Wednesday and Thursday, to march to the ministry.
Baradel indicated that the teachers will hold a demonstration on Thursday at La Plata city.
