PRO opposition fails to stop subway's fare hike

BA City opposition has not managed to stop the local government's move to increase the Subte fare as it has failed to reach the necessary two-thirds vote to address the modification of the Subte ACT sanctioned by the Legislature back in December.

In a 31 to 26 votes, the Legislature rejected the opposition’s request.

Subte tariffs are expected to jump from $2.50 pesos to $3.50 pesos on March 15th.
