Hugo Chávez reads the Cuban newspaper with his daughters.
“We are still holding on to God”, María Gabriela Chávez, one of Hugo Chávez’s daughters, tweeted as she welcomed messages of solidarity and support to the president of Venezuela, who is struggling to recover from cancer surgery.
In a recent update regarding his health, the Venezuelan government announced that the Socialist leader's breathing problems have worsened and that he is suffering from a "severe new respiratory infection."
According to the Communication and Information Ministry, 58-year old Chávez is receiving “high-impact” chemotherapy treatment and added that his general condition continues to be “very delicate.”
