Council of Magistrates head: 'this organization hit rock bottom'
The head of the Council of Magistrates Mario Fera assured that the judicial organization “has hit rock bottom” and said he was hoping to “read the draft bill described by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner” before expressing a serious opinion.
“It’s very hard to pinpoint the exact reason why the Council functioned improperly, but there were several of them and it saw itself wrapped in a situation that exceeds its power, such as the constitutionality of a law. We need to engage in self-criticism in order to find an answer to our mismanagement,” he said.
“Somehow, this organization hit rock bottom,” he added, stating that “our goal from now on is to function properly.”
“We’re a young, fifteen-year-old institution that has already made two changes in it. Since we are young we shouldn’t be afraid of change in order to better function,” he stated.
Regarding the President’s plans for changes in the Judicial branch, he assured that he “is looking forward to “read the draft bill in order to learn about its concrete chances in order to be able to provide a serious opinión.”
