One dead after heavy storm hits BA City
A heavy storm hit Buenos Aires City last night blowing down numerous trees, and leaving flooding areas. In Villa Lugano, one of the most affected neighborhoods along with Palermo and Belgrano, a Supermarket's roof collapsed, reported by the head of the City Civil Defence Daniel Russo.
A man was found dead in Barracas neighbourhood, Buenos Aires City. The victim was in his fifties and was found drowned this morning near her house.
The neighbours called rapidly the police, but he was already dead by the time she arrived in the Penna hospital.
According to the BA City government, around 30 millimeters of rain fell during the first intense storm reaching 45 millimeters throughout the night .
The wind increased in intensity reaching up to 70-80 km/h in Villa Lugano, thus blowing the roof of a Jumbo supermarket located in the intersection of Escalada and Fernández de la Cruz avenues.
Also, a minor was informed to have suffered some minor injuries as the result of broken glasses in four tower buildings where the roof’s metal sheets had crashed against. Around 50 cars parked in these residential buildings got damaged.
