BA province teachers ratify 48-hours strike
Buenos Aires province teachers' unions ratified the strike for next Monday and Tuesday to claim a wage hike higher than 22 percent. Teachers blamed the provincial government of the "educational crisis" in the district.
The five unions that form the Buenos Aires Teachers Union Front strongly rejected the offer presented by Governor Daniel Scioli, which stated a 17.8 percent hike for the whole year.
The head of SUTEBA, Roberto Baradel, assured today that "we ratify the 48 hour strike for next Monday and Tuesday."
"Buenos Aires province government is not acting with responsibility, it does not present an offer to solve the educational crisis," the union leader told the press.
Besides, Baradel confirmed that the teachers will hold "demonstrations on Wednesday, which will include a march to the National Education Ministry summoned by CTERA."
