CFK renews claims over Malvinas Islands
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner renewed the claims to the United Kingdom over the sovereignty of the Malvinas Islands. "The world is the one demanding dialogue," she assured as the pro-government lawmakers and militants celebrated her statement.
"Argentina claims again to the UK dialogue over the sovereignty of the Islands as the resolution of the United Nations indicates," she continued during the 3 hours and 40 minutes speech she gave at Congress for the inauguration of the legislative year.
"We are not asking them to say we are right, but simply talk because we believe diplomacy is the only thing we have to defend peace," she affirmed and highlighted that peace is a value no one talks about. Afterwards, she asked how UK authorities could sit down and have a dialogue with those guilty of genocide, "but refuse to talk to a government elected by the people."
