'Council of the Magistrates members should be elected by popular vote,' CFK
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner arrives at the National Congress.
In a fired up speech at the National Congress to inaugurate the legislative year, president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner said that she will drive popular vote plans to elect “all members of the Council of Magistrates”.
Fernandez de Kirchner announced she will submit to Congress a series of bills that aim at the “democratization of justice” and called for “non-corporative” courts, “independent of economic factors”.
Argentina´s head of state also denied plans to reform the Constitution. “There will be no Constitutional Reform”, she affirmed.
