Alonso assures Larroque 'is sorry' for insulting her
PRO party lawmaker Laura Alonso assured that her Kirchnerite counterpart Andrés Larroque surely feels “deeply sorry” for insulting her during a Lower House committee debate.
“I hope Larroque apologizes. He will not apologize to me, but I am sure that he must be deeply sorry”, Alonso said as she repeated that the ruling party lawmaker “disrespected her”.
According to Alonso, “Argentina´s politics are going trough a moment of intense violence”.
In statements to a radio station, the lawmaker said Larroque was “disrespectful” and considered the incident a “personal affront”.
Alonso and Larroque clashed on Tuesday at a session of the Foreign Relations, Judicial and Constitutional Affairs committee, held to debate the controversial accord between Argentina and Iran.
During his speech, the head of the Victory Front's Lower House caucus, Agustín Rossi, accused the administration of Buenos Aires City Mayor Mauricio Macri of appointing Jorge Palacios, prosecuted in the AMIA case, as chief of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Police.
When the PRO lawmaker questioned Rossi´s statements, Larroque responded by saying: “shut up, slut!”
Raising her voice, Alonso asked him to repeat what he had said and then called him "a coward”.
