UCR leaders to meet, hope to leave internal differences behind
The leaders in the Radical party, along with lawmakers and party referents, will convene on Monday in Mendoza in order to outline the 2013 legislative agenda, as they search to overcome the internal crisis they are dealing with in order to face the coming midterm elections.
Lawmaker Ricardo Alfonsín, former Vice-President Julio Cobos and senator Ernesto Sanz will attend the summit, in what could be seen as a new signal of unity, as several Radical districts continue to take distance from the party.
The gathering, called “Situation and perspectives of the economy in an election year,” will be attended by Radical lawmakers in both houses of Congress, along with the National Committee and the party’s National Convention.
The summit is scheduled to take place in the capital of Mendoza and will be inaugurated at 9 am by senator Sanz and the president of Mendoza’s Provincial Committee, Alfredo Cornejo.
