Ecuador goes to the polls: Correa clear favourite
Close to 11.7 million people in Ecuador are expected to vote tomorrow as they elect their new president, vice-president and 137 congressmen for the 2013-2017 term. Incumbent head of state Rafael Correa is highly expected to be re-elected.
Correa -who has had six electoral victories in a row since he took office on January 15, 2007- is expected to achieve 64.1% of the vote against Guillermo Lasso, his main rival in the race, according to the private statistics company Market.
