Prosecutor says 'no proof' Bonafini involved in corruption case
Hebe de Bonafini.
Public prosecutor Jorge Di Lello said today that there was ‘no proof’ to suggest Hebe de Bonafini was involved in the alleged fraudulent administration of public funds in the Mother of the Plaza de Mayo human rights organization, for which the Schoklender brothers were arrested yesterday.
Lello spoke with local radio station Vorterix, where he maintained that there was no doubt Bonafini “steered the Schoklender brothers into getting deeply involved in the running of the Madres de Plaza de Mayo.”
He added, however that “there is no evidence to be able to hold her responsible for the alleged fraud committed with the funds that the organization received from the State for the Shared Dreams scheme.”
