Argentine cardinal among possible Pope candidates
Specialists have already labelled Argentine Cardinal Leonardo Sandri as a possible successor to Pope Benedict, who announced his resignation today.
The former Argentine Ambassador to the Vatican, Esteban Caselli, highlighted today Latin America’s chances of getting one of its religious representatives in the role as Pope due to the fact that it has “close to a billion members of the Catholic faith.”
“If it is to be so, we have a great chance of having Cardinal Leonardo Sandri elected pope,” the diplomat said today in a radio interview.
