‘None of Moreno’s measures will work,’ Buzzi

Eduardo Buzzi.

The head of the Argentine Agrarian Federation, Eduardo Buzzi, blasted Domestic Trade Secretary Guillermo Moreno for orchestrating the 60-day accord to freeze prices, a moved he said was intended to fool “dumb people”.

The farming leader blamed inflation on a “structural problem that needs to be solved” and assured that “price freezes mean food today, hunger tomorrow”.

Buzzi attacked Moreno one more time by calling him “a bully” and “a caveman when it comes to the economy”.

“None of Moreno’s measures will work,” he emphasized, and stated that the recent accord is merely a distraction.

“The agreement looks to fool dumb people. You are lying for 60 days. It’s like trying to cover the sun with your hand,” he added.

“It’s time to check on tax pressure, transportation costs, gas taxes. They also fail to check how supermarkets mark up their products, many of them friends of Moreno,” he stated.

A few days ago the National Government announced that it had reached an agreement with the country’s largest supermarket chains to freeze prices for 60 days in order to combat inflation.
