Key witness in Once rail tragedy investigation killed
Leandro Andrada, one of the key witnesses in the case investigating the Once rail tragedy, was found dead on Friday after being shot in Ituzaingó.
Andrada drove the Sarmiento line train that crashed on February 22 last year killing 51 people, to Castelar station, where he handed it over to Marcos Córdoba, who is currently being investigated for causing the consequential crash on arrival to Once station.
Noticias Argentinas reported today that Andrada was found dead on Friday with four bullets in his back at the bus stop located at the junction of José María Paz and Malabia streets in the area of Ituzaingó in Buenos Aires province.
Ituzaingó polive were investigating the case as early reports indicated that the shooting could have been an accident during a robbery.
“We’re investigating the case. His mobile phone was missing and it could well have been an armed robbery,” a police source told reporters.
