Pinamar: 11-year-old in a coma after quad bike accident

The Pinamar beaches attract many quad bike enthusiasts in the summer.

An 11-year-old is in a coma after hitting his head in a quad bike accident in Pinamar, police officials said.

According to sources, the incident took place when the quad bike he was riding collided with his father’s quad bike. The boy was riding with another adult who controlled the vehicle.

According to the Pinamar Hospital, he had suffered a skull fracture for which he was transferred to a Mar del Plata hospital, where he remains in a coma.

“He was riding around with his dad and we are still unsure whether they fell or collided with another vehicle, but unfortunately his condition is very delicate,” a doctor said.

“These incidents are very common in Pinamar. There are more quad bike accidents than motorcycle accidents here.”

“There’s a whole culture surrounding this vehicle, but unfortunately no one takes the necessary measures and even parents leave their under aged children ride them, which could bring serious consequences.”
