AMIA, victims’ relatives question gov't solo move

AMIA Jewish Community Centre President Guillermo Borger, said in a radio interview that the relatives of the victims of the 1994 bombing attack are going through a "difficult time" following the agreement between Argentina and Iran to create a commission to interrogate suspects.

“We don’t confront with the government but we will not accept things done without consultation and less if they implicate the Republic of Iran”, Borger said.

“This is a difficult time for us as we do not consider Iran a reliable partner in order to try to advance in the elucidation of the 1994 AMIA’s terrorist attack for which there is strong and irrefutable evidence showing that Iranian high-ranked officials were part of the plotting. We must keep wide open eyes all the time.”

To end Borger remarked the fact that the agreement between the two nations “appears to be signed, a fact of which we have never been informed”, and added, “We can’t move forward into clarifying if Iran does not accept to re-write the memorandum the way we have already proposed.”
