Construction plummets 3.2% in 2012

The construction activity registered a 3.2 percent drop in 2012 compared to the volume reported the previous year, according to the Indec national statistics bureau.

The official agency stated in a communiqué that the activity has also dropped 4 percent in December year-on-year, and gained 0.9 percent against the previous month.

The areas dedicated to the construction, measures by the building petitions, plummeted 9.3 percent in 2012 year-on-year.

Back in 2011, the activity had registered an 8.7 percent increase.
