'Blue' dollar shoots up 12 cents to AR$7.92

The price of the ‘blue’ dollar (black market price) moved up to AR$7.89 and AR$7.92, after it surged by two percent yesterday. The official rate of the US currency moved up by half a cent to AR$4.935 and AR$4.985.

The price of the parallel dollar closed yesterday at AR$7.83 and AR$7.86 after surging by two percent, reaching 7.82 pesos when sold, a new record.

This means there is a 58.7 percent gap with the official exchange rate, which yesterday closed at 4.99 pesos, in a market with high seasonal demand, shortage of currency and peso-boosted liquidity.

Meanwhile, the price of the Euro rose, trading at AR$6.62 and $6.79.
