CFK meets with Piñera, closes Chilean tour
On the last day of his stay in Chile, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner held a series of private meetings with leaders in the final day of the European Union (EU) and Latin American and Caribbean States Community (CELAC) summit held in Santiago de Chile.
After meeting with Chilean president Sebastián Piñera, Fernández indicated that the head of state “gave her his country’s full support in the Malvinas sovereignty cause.”
According to her, Piñera also expressed his desires to “expand their ties in Antarctica, where both countries share historic and essential rights, and where they must expand their unity.”
Fernández was scheduled to meet with Piñera at La Moneda Palace (Government House) on Sunday evening, but the meeting was moved earlier so she could return to Argentina, thus not staying for the summit’s closing dinner.
