CFK calls for new Mercosur proposal, meets with Rousseff
The Argentine Head of State met with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, where afterward she mentioned a possible commercial agreement with the European Union (EU), stating that the Mercosur should "discuss and come up with new was to present a new offer in the final trimester of the year."
After the bi-lateral meeting, Fernández de Kirchner said that “it was an excellent meeting, but there will be another one later on because we ran out of time.”
The President said that a new foundation must first be built “between the Mercosur partners, not only Argentina and Brazil but with Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela too.”
She emphasized Paraguay because of the presidential elections which will take place soon, allowing for new leaders in August.
