President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner looks on at a man during her visit to the Cu Chi tunnels, on January 20th, 2013.
Cristina Fernández de Kirchner visited the Cu Chi tunnels yesterday during her trip in Vietnam, which the Viet Cong had used in the war against the United States.
The president used her Twitter account to express her feelings throughout the visit, calling the fight of the Vietnamese people "a global example for our generation, for the struggle for freedom."
Since Argentina had initiated diplomatic relations with Vietnam in 1973, the President’s visit commemorates the 40th anniversary of relations between both countries.
