Marcos Patronelli wins second Dakar ATV title
Marcos Patronelli, winner of the Dakar in 2010, with the power of his ATV, won today his second title after finishing third in the final stage of the competition, which linked the Chilean cities of La Serena and Santiago.
South African Sarel Van Biljon (E-ATV) won the stage with a time of 1 hour 54 minutes 05 seconds, trailed by Honda’s Sebastian Husseini from the United Arab Emirates (1hour 54’ 42’’).
Patronelli’s Yamaha ATV crossed the finish line marking a time of 1 hour 55 minutes 23 seconds.
Thus, Patronelli added the fourth title of the family as his brother, Alejandro, who did not compete in this edition, had won in 2011 and 2012.
The Argentine surpassed by almost two hours Chilean Ignacio Cassale (Yamaha) who ended way too far from the overall winner.
