One dead, six injured in robbery, crash in Recoleta

A 27-year-old man died today and his accomplice ended severely injured after they robbed a man and the motorcycle in which they were riding crashed into a 152 line bus in Recoleta.

Meanwhile, six people riding the bus were hospitalized, among them a young pregnant woman and a man in critical condition.

Police sources said the incident took place this afternoon, when two men riding a motorcycle stole a Rolex watch from a man driving a car in the intersection of Alvear avenue and Montevideo, in the City neighbourhood of Recoleta.

Police officers saw the incident and ordered the thieves to stop, which caused the men to flee at top speed.. As they crossed Montevideo into Santa Fe avenue, the crashed against a 152 line bus, and one of them died almost instantly.
