Inflation reaches 10.8% in 2012, Indec reports

Inflation increased  10.8 percent in 2012 when compared to the volume registered in 2011, according to the Indec national statistics bureau.

The official agency also reported that prices increased 1 percent in December. The hike in buses and trains fares were added to the Consumer Prices Index (IPC) according to the amount of days of the year that it was implemented, as from December 21st. 

This represented a 7.4 percent increase in City buses and 12.2 percent increase in provincial buses. Thus, transport and communication sectors led the increase in prices in December.
