Tevez misses national team days
Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez, who’s been absent at the national team since Coach Alejandro Sabella took the reigns by the end of 2011, revealed today that “even though always feel like playing for Argentina, I assume and understand that the team doesn’t need me right now.”
In conversations with the press, the former Boca, Corinthians, West Ham and Manchester United striker recognized that “it hurts to see the national team as an outsider, but I understand how hard Sabella’s work is as he currently counts with excellent strikers like "(Lionel) Messi, ‘Kun’ (Sergio Agüero), ‘Pipa’ (Gonzalo Higuaín), and ‘Pocho’ (Ezequiel Lavezzi). I don’t want to put any pressure on Sabella as I did before last South American Championship in 2011"
Likewise, Tevez played down all rumours indicating short-cuts between him and Messi: “Nothing far from true. I have a good relationship with him though he is not a friend.”
Furthermore, Tevez praised the Barcelona’s star “It’s been a while since the last time I talked with the “midget”. He’s the best football player in the world, and I feel proud of having shared such great moments with him.”
