BA City teachers attend wage talks at Education Ministry

The Education Workers Union (UTE-CTERA) attended today the first meeting for talks on collective bargaining at the Buenos Aires City education ministry. No percenages were discussed, but both parties agreed on the "wage structure."

The meeting began at 11 am at the education ministry building, on Paseo Colón 255 in downtown Buenos Aires. As he exited the meeting,  UDA's Gustavo Frutto assured that "we agreed upon the structure of the wage" but added that no percentages were discussed.

Classes in City schools are set to begin on February 27th. 

“We won’t only push for discussion on the minimum wage floor, but also the necessity to guarantee teaching teams in the classrooms for groups that have over 25 students, as well as asking that a higher budget be applied to public education,” the union said in a press release.
