'Nobody will obtain anything from Argentina through extortion,' CFK

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner assured that her administration will continue to resist pressure and warned that "through extortion and by force nobody will obtain anything from Argentina," as she led a ceremony to celebrate of the return of Frigate Libertad at the Mar del Plata port.

Regarding Ghana, where the navy vessel remained impounded for 77 days, she added that not all goverments resist pressure. “We are a government which is used to suffer all kinds of pressures. And we will continue to resist because no one will ever obtain anything from Argentina by extortion and by force,” she warned.

Fernández de Kirchner also lashed out at vulture funds- and deemed them "social savage predators," and stressed the fact that Argentina paid over 11 billion dollars of debt in 2012, and that the December payment was the the single highest payment to private bondholders since the December 2001 default.
