CFK responds to Darín's controversial statements
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner took to her Facebook account to post an extensive letter addressed to popular actor Ricardo Darín, in which she addressed his recent statements questioning her wealth.
The President stressed that “never in history has anyone had such easy access to sworn statements” detailing the origins of someone else’s wealth.
“No other public officials – no matter whether they are politicians, governors, lawmakers, mayors or judges- have been more accused or investigated by the Argentine justice system than my husband and the person who writes this letter,” she said on both her Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Her response was sparked by a series of statements made by Ricardo Darín in a recent interview for a magazine, in which he said he “wanted someone would explain to him” how the Kirchners came to amass such immense wealth.
While speaking to Darín directly, Fernández de Kirchner added she loves films and congratulated him for his work.
But later adds: “No one seems to care about other sworn statements. It would be good, healthy and transparent for the democratic system if all sworn statements were available for society to see.”
