Car output falls 7.8% in 2012

The car output fell 7.8 percent in 2012 compared to the record reached in the previous year, and has totalled 764,495 units, according to the Association of Automotive Factories (ADEFA).

In December, the production grew 16.4 percent against the same month in 2011, reaching 61,023 units.

Meanwhile, car exports during the twelfth month of the year climbed 11.6 percent year-on-year, to 39,705 units. Also car dealership sales increased 6.6 percent, reaching 88,323 units.

During 2012, the exports accumulated 413,472 units, below the 506,715 units registered in 2011, while car dealership sales reached 830,058 units, against the 883,350 from the previous year.
