BA stocks start the year 3.4% higher

Buenos Aires stocks began the year 3.4 percent higher, with the Merval benchmark stock index reaching 2,952.87 points.

Argentina's country-risk moved down by 4.9 percent, standing at 942 basis points in the JP Morgan EMBI index.
