BA City takes over subway service, Macri critical of national gov't
City Mayor Mauricio Macri
Buenos Aires City Mayor Mauricio Macri assured today that “it is surprising that the National Government talks about the subway considering the mess they did in the Transport area,” and also warned that if the fare is not subsidized, it will cost over $6 pesos.
The city government formally took over the administration of the subway service on New Year’s day.
Macri defended the closure of line A to replace trains that are a hundred years old, and once again lashed out at President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s administration over comments on the matter.
“The bad management of the subway affected everybody. It’s surprising that certain Government officials speak out considering the mess they did in the Transport area,” he added.
