City Legislature approves subway transfer
The Buenos Aires subway service is now in the hands of centre-right PRO government run by Mauricio Macri after receiving the final nod by lawmakers at the city legislature today.
The Buenos Aires city legislature approved this morning the transfer of the underground subway train service and the Premetro to Mauricio’s administration from the hands of the national government after a lengthy debate by city lawmakers.
The bill was approved with 46 votes in favour and 12 against.
The debate lasted three hours on the house floor, however the topic underwent 14 hours of prior discussion by committees.
