'Gov't is taking typical IMF cuts recipes,' Moyano
Peronist CGT boss Hugo Moyano assured that "the government is following the typical orthodox IMF recipes for austerity cuts, including frozen wages and even wage cuts despite the inflation devouring salaries."
The statements were made as he addressed crowds at Plaza de Mayo in a rally held along with CTA's Pablo Micheli.
“This is no different from what the International Monetary Fund instructed at the time.
"It's an undercover austerity cuts plan. When the IMF outlines the policies of those countries that suboordinate themselves, the first thing it does is freeze salaries."
"The Government has frozen and even reduced salaries”, Moyano added.
Regarding the 2013 mid-term elections, Moyano said that "we will have this fundamental tool of democracy and workers will vote for those who guarantee their rights. We can’t be wrong again! Don’t come to us with fantasies of an unfinished revolution.”
He also called for President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner to address inflation and crime rates.
The demands by the high-profile labour union groups aimed to wages, labour pensions, welfare policies, and the owed state debt to the unions health insurance companies.
