IMF confirms December report, no action until 2013
The board of directors of the International Monetary Fund (FMI) will not make any decision over Argentina at least until next year, although it will send a report on Monday, according to the fund's spokesman, Gerry Rice.
"The Managing Director will brief the board on Argentina on this coming Monday," Rice assured during a press conference.
The IMF urges Argentina to correct the official statistics indexes, particularly the ones related to inflation and Gross Domestic Product.
"I don't have an exact date, but I would not expect a meeting this year," he continued.
The Fund aims at the "interactions with the authorities and the proper due diligence to assess the quality of the statistics and their alignment with international guidelines as well as the country's obligations under the Articles of Agreement."
