AGTSyP union members stage protest before City Legislature
Members of the AGTSyP breakaway subway workers union gathered in front of the City Legislature building downtown today, in protest against the city government’s subway transfer bill.
The protest took place at Avenida de Mayo and Perú downtown, as the union said in a communiqué.
The members protested against the bill because of an alleged threat of its passing could cause to their work conditions.
“The bill could endanger our working conditions, which could turn into an attempt to threaten the achievements made by workers, giving the city legislature superpowers.”
The subway transfer bill was supposed to be debated by the City Legislature today, however it was pulled back for next week sure to the inability of lawmakers across the blocs to be able to agree on a single text.
