'I've always wanted to visit Argentina, and Juan made it possible,' Federer
On the verge of their two exhibition matches, Roger Federer and Juan Martín del Potro gave a press conference today in Northern Greater Buenos Aires district of Tigre in company of Argentine tennis legend Guillermo Vilas, and local mayor Sergio Massa.
Del Potro welcomed the Swiss man with an effusive presentation: “Welcome to Argentina, Roger! It’s a pleasure for me to introduce the best tennis player of all times.”"I've always wanted to visit Argentina, and Juan made it possible. I'm really enjoying my stay here. I'd like to visit Boca Juinors' stadium as well some beautiful places Ive been told you have in Argentina, and of course taste some malbec wines", Federer said.
Likewise, Federer said to feel "really honoured because of the fact of being invited by the President [Cristina Fernández]2, as the Head of State is expecting his visit at the Presidential Residence in Northern Greater Buenos Aires district of Olivos.
Del Potro explained that though the games are “exhibitions”, they will play with the same intensity level they show in the tour.
“People want to see the same game level we play throughout the year in the tour. So we are playing for real. Plus, I don’t want to lose.”
“Playing against the best in the history of tennis is always a pleasure and furthermore a learning lesson I get from him.”
