Kunkel asks Lorenzetti to clear up presidential aspirations
Pro-government lawmaker Carlos Kunkel called on the head of the Supreme Court of Justice Ricardo Lorenzetti, to “clear up” whether or not he had presidential aspirations in a radio interview today.
“He should clear it up, so that our minds are put at rest,” Kunkel said.
Fifteen days ago a high-profile member of the court Carlos Fayt, had mentioned the possibility of Lorenzetti running for president in the future.
The statements were made during a radio interview this morning with local station La Red, where Kunkel expressed that he respected Fayt and that his comments were of “importance” due to the fact that he has a “long history in politics.”
Kunkel’s comments come a day after the Supreme Court of Justice rejected the national government’s plea for the per saltum law to be applied on the Civil and Commercial Court’s decision to extend the Clarín Group’s Media Law injunction.
