'People want the Judiciary to serve the population,' CFK
While addressing the nation from the Plaza de Mayo, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner called on the three branches of government to "respect the popular will."
Her speech comes three days after a federal court decided to extend the injunction on the Media Law, in a case that has the Government at odds with the Grupo Clarín media group.
"We call on all branches of government to excercise decorum and respect for the popular will," she said while addressing the population from a festival in the Plaza de Mayo.
"People feel there are sectors that still follow a logic of not respecting the popular will."
"And I'm not just saying this because of the Media Law, but also because sometimes the population sees judges who release people who once again commit crimes, rape or kill," she added.
"People are tired, and they want the Judiciary to serve de population," she concluded.
