Subway workers lift strike, meeting at midday

Members of the AGTSyP breakaway union decided to lift the strike they were set to hold today, after they were called for a new hearing by the City Labour Under–Secretariat alongside concessionary company Metrovías.

Delegates said in a communiqué yesterday that they decided to lift the strike after a meeting as a conciliatory measure and added that they will attend the meeting with the best possibleattitude for dialogue.

The union delegates stressed the fact that in order to solve the dispute Metrovías must accept the devolution of the money docked off the 10 day strike held in August and that workers are exempted of paying 1 percent of their wages of their salary to the UTA union, which is legally recognized by the Labour Ministry.
