'YPF would have suffered same fate as Aerolíneas had I not nationalized it'
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
While giving a televised speech, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner assured that “Argentines are the true owners of the 51 percent of YPF stock” and added that “the state and all that is a part of it are above ideology and people.”
She also added that “retaking YPF meant the recovery of a strategic instrument, considering that Argentina was the only country in Latin America that had no management over its energetic sector.
“Had I not made that decision to nationalize YPF, the company would have suffered the fate of another flagship company, Aerolíneas Argentinas, which we also had to retake,” she said.
The President made these statements from Tecnópolis, where she attended the first Oil and Gas Industry Expo.
