'Vultures can't only be found abroad, but also in our country,' CFK
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner assured that the “vultures and caranchos (another type of raptor bird) cannot only be found abroad, but also in our country and sometimes they charge against the state.”
While addressing the nation from the Bicentenary Museum, Fernández pointed out that “it’s curious that for 12 years no one could retire with the AFJP private pension funds, they offered laughable minimum earnings and no court cases, but as soon as the Government took over we were flooded by lawsuits.
She also referred to the suspension of New York judge Thomas Griesa’s ruling, which favoured the vulture funds.
She said the judge’s decision to rule in favour of them were “clearly political” and said that in the last week Argentines were the victims of “harassed and besieged.”
