Ramón Díaz agreed today to coach River Plate once more, and replace Matías Almeyda, after holding a meeting with the head of the club, Daniel Passarella.

Díaz and the "Kaiser" met this afternoon for almost four hours and came to an agreement over the new coach of the club from Núñez, as most of the fans required.

Nevertheless, the new coach will not be heading the team next Sunday against Lanús in the match for the eighteenth round of the Inicial Tournament, as the current coach of the lower divisions, Gustavo Zapata, will be in charge.

Díaz had coached River in two opportunities: from the Apertura Tournament 1995 until 1999, and from the Apertura 2001 until Clausura 2002, achieving seven cups - five local and two international.

He coached 302 games with 155 victories, 80 draws and 67 loses.
