CFK launches plan to boost engineering graduates

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner delivers a speech at Tecnópolis.

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner launched a strategic plan to increase the amount of engineering graduates, stated "let's have 8,000 engineers by 2016, one out of 5,000 inhabitants, and one every 4,000 by 2020."

"We want more people working in adding value to this Argentina we are industrializing. China has an engineer out of 2,000 inhabitants, and Germany, one out of 2,300. Our country had in 2003 one engineer out of 8,000 and in 2010, one out of 6,500," the Head of State detained during a rally in Tecnópolis.

The "Strategic plan for engineers formation" is aimed to boost to 50% the number of graduates in 2016, and double it by 2021 against 2010, until it reaches 10,000 per year. The plan includes measures to improve the academic indicators, scholarships and strengthening of technical schools.

The rally was held in Tecnópolis, where Fernández de Kirchner presented the plan and signed the protocols to distribute the resources in technical schools.
