Luján floods: Officials say area back to normal within two days

Luján Cathedral will be closed over the weekend, due to the clean-up in place following the heavy rains that hit the area.

Urban control officials said today that the flood waters in Luján City were beginning to lower and that the city should be back to normal within two days.

Five hundred and fifty people have been evacuated from their homes since the storms that hit the city on Monday and many have been left without power.

Flood waters were reported at 5.10 metres yesterday, rising from 4.82 metres after the River Luján burst its banks in the storm. Today, it was reported to be at 4.60 metres.

Luján City has been one of the most affected in Buenos Aires province after the heavy rains.
