Senator Fernández bashes Macri over Subway transfer
National Senator Aníbal Fernández (Victory Front) assured today that Buenos Aires City Mayor Mauricio Macri “not only doesn’t like to work, but also shows a disrespect for the law”, in another attack to the Business tycoon who refuses to move forward with the Subway transfer between the national and City administrations.
Likewise, Fernández remarked that Macris’ reluctance won’t last much longer: “He [Macri] will have to step up to his responsibilities any time soon.”
Asked about the rumours indicating that subway workers could take care of the service and its management through their union, the former Cabinet Chief denied that chance as he considered that “It is the City government who must take charge of it, plus the only one that can carry on such a big business that demands a huge level of management considering the company’s payroll and a large investment to be conducted.”
To end, the senator warned that Macri’s administration could go for another massive fare hike like the 127% raise on the tariff the Mayor authorized last January.
“Macri does not show any understanding for the working class. I think he’ll probably lead another fare hike without consulting anybody.”
