Taxi fares rise

The Buenos Aires city taxi fares officially increased as from Sunday. The starting rate will rise from 8.20 pesos to 9.10 pesos and the night-time rate will now be 9.70 pesos. The increase is part of a two-phase rate hike, made in an agreement between the government and the City Taxi Association (ATC).

The total increase for this year will be 25 percent, with the first 12.5 percent increase made in July and the second half being implemented today.
