Subway workers to protest on Monday

Subway delegates announced they will leave turnstiles open on Monday and allow passengers to ride for free to as a measure to resume wage talks with Metrovías.

Turnstiles will be left open between 8 and 10 on Monday morning rush hour in the main stations of the six subway lines.

“Once the measure is over, we will evaluate its result, the attitude of Metrovías concessionary company and we will decide the steps to follow” unionists said in a press release.

In line A, turnstiles will be left open in Carabobo and Primera Junta stations, in line B Federico Lacroze and Los Incas stations; turnstiles will be left open in Constitución and Retiro stations in line C; in line D Congreso de Tucumán station, in line E’s Plaza de los Virreyes station and in Line H's Once station.

Earlier this year, members AGTPyS subway union carried an unprecedented 10 day strike over wage claims.
